I am excited to be head of the Parent Club this year. Our family has been with the Academy and Preschool for 3 years and we currently have a 1st grader and a preschooler. Wood Rose is such a wonderful and solid community of students, teachers and parents. I am honored to take on the role of PTA President and help our school achieve its mission and be a place of learning, love and light. Together, we can make this a great year!
The Wood Rose Parent Association is made up of and open to all of the parents of our school. All are welcome and expected to attend and participate in our monthly meetings. Our Association is intended to be a support to the Teachers and Administration and to offer assistance, ideas and a collaborative spirit.
Specifically the Parent Association's role is to:
1. To spearhead fundraising efforts on behalf of the school.
2. To provide work parties for maintenance or improvements to the school site.
3. To determine how to spend the parent association designated funds and acknowledge teachers.
The Leadership consists of:
President- Prepares agenda and conducts monthly Parent Meetings. Oversees any committees formed for various activities.
Vice President- Supports the President in the execution of duties and runs the meetings in the absence of the President.
Secretary- Compiles minutes from the meeting and has them available for review. Maintains any Parent Association files or correspondence.
Treasurer- Manages all the financial administrative duties.
The President runs the meetings, and they are held every first Wednesday of the month at 7 p,m, in the 1st grade classroom. We begin and end with prayer, review our minutes from the following meeting, discuss the agenda items, formulate committees and brainstorm with ways we can support the needs of our school.
Parents Association meetings are every first Thursday of the month at 7 pm in the 1st Grade classroom.
